MOUNTAIN BIKING: Mosquito Creek (the Racecourse)

← ID GRAYS LAKE DIV TO BLACKFOOT RIVER BASIN WAYAN Single Tracks →

Description

From the car, cross the road and take the left fork in the forest service road leading uphill. Stay on the forest service rd (FSR 30975). There are several road spurs on the way up. Stay on the main road. At 3.9 there should be 2 signs and a trail on the left. Keep going straight. Road will be in noticeably worse condition. More like a jeep track instead of the nice FSR you've been on. At 5.1 take the singletrack on the right. Singletrack is kinda marked with 2 small rock cairns. If you see a trail heading up then you know you have the right one. Maybe even a small hike. From this point trail can become faint in spots. There are no trail markers/signs. After awhile singletrack starts to point you downhill. Trail becomes very very fast for the downhill. Singletrack leading to an old jeep doubletrack taking you back to the original FSR. When you hit the FSR take a left back to your vehicle.

Directions

Drive south from Wilson on Fall Creek rd for 4.4 miles and take a right onto Mosquito Creek rd. Once the road crosses over Mosquito Creek, drive until there is a fork in the rd @3 miles. There is a parking area on the right. Trail starts behind you at the fork.
